Japan's entry steps

Bringing your pet to Japan, in order

These steps come from Japan's Animal Quarantine Service. Do them in this order.

  1. Microchip

Your pet gets a microchip first.

  2. Two anti-rabies shots

At least two anti-rabies shots, after the microchip.

  3. Blood titer test

The result must be 0.5 IU/ml or higher. We send the sample to RIAS in Japan.

  4. Wait 180 days

Your pet can arrive in Japan no earlier than 180 days after the blood sample date.

Tell Japan before you fly. Notify the port of entry at least 40 days before your pet arrives.

The whole process takes at least 6 months, so the earlier you start, the better. Message us your travel date, and we'll help you plan.

Traveling within the Philippines?

We help with health papers for trips within the Philippines. Message us your travel date and where you're going, and we'll tell you what your pet needs.
